In the picture where Syd is wearing the black hat...thos
Sydney did better over-all on Saturday....but the highlight of the weekend was that Billy did his first lead-line class on Sunday. He did well, too! He got 2nd and 3rd place out of 4 kids. (One class...but 2 judges...so each judge counts.)
Funny side note...In a few of the earlier shows...in the Halter class...I was a little confused as to why Sydney didn't place as well as I thought she should have. Now, I didn't post any of the pictures...'cause that would just be wrong! But apparently....if the horse's "fifth leg" is hanging out...points are taken off. Well...that explains it!!
We have another show this coming weekend....In Minnesota! I guess it's about 2 hours away...YUK! We've never been to this one...so it will be an adventure!

We had baby ducklings delivered in early May. We just thought it would be fun to watch them grow....and we though it would be easy since we have the pond in the back yard. They grew fast and made themselves at home with no problems. The strange thing is that they're all females! Not a single green head in the bunch! Go figure! The dogs like to aggravate them a little...but not too bad. We got mallards so that they would fly away in the winter. Now we're hearing stories that the only reason they fly south is because of food shortage. I guess that wouldn't be an issue since we feed them. We may have permanent residents. Oh well...They're still a lot of fun. They're not tame by any means...but they'll get close to you when they know it's chow-time. Dani makes a point to check on them every morning....and sure enough...they're always there.
Good morning...
Today is Wednesday...Day one of this "blogging thing". Thanks, Heather...I need one more hobby :) Just kidding...I'm hoping it will be a better way for me to keep everyone up-to-date on what's going on around here.
